Inverted Yield Curve

Trading Term

In most instances, short-term debt securities have lower yields than longer-term bonds. As central banks raise short-term interest rates to combat inflation and investors grow increasingly fearful of a recession, short-term rates can exceed long-term rates. When this occurs, a chart showing yields of different duration debt instruments will appear inverted, signaling a potential recession.
