Municipal Bond

Trading Term

A bond issued by states, cities, counties and towns to fund operating budgets and public capital projects such as roads and schools. Municipal bonds are typically exempt from federal taxes and, for investors who live in the state where the bond is issued, from state and local taxes, too.
