Phillips Curve

Trading Term

A theory that maintains inflation and unemployment have an inverse relationship. Inflation is generally accompanied by economic growth, which includes job creation. A loss of jobs however, leads to reduced price pressures as folks don’t have as much money to buy goods and services, pushing businesses to lower prices. The rise in automation and technology has distorted this relationship, by reducing the global economy’s dependence on labor.
