Revenue Bond

Trading Term

A type of municipal security that is backed solely by fees or other revenue generated or collected by a facility such as tolls from a bridge or road, or leasing fees. The creditworthiness of revenue bonds relies mostly on the bond’s debt service coverage ratio, which is the relationship between revenue coming in and the cost of paying interest on the debt.
