Digital Option

Trading Term

A type of exotic option whose payout is fixed after the underlying stock exceeds the predetermined threshold or strike price. It is sometimes also known as a binary or all-or-nothing option. A digital option only depends on if the underling asset expires in-the-money at the expiration date, at which time the option will automatically be exercised.
