This morning a total of 30,000 HSBC Holdings plc (Symbol: HSBC) puts traded in three different strikes in volumes of 10,0000 each. The HSBC September 15 ’23 35 puts, September 15 ’23 38 puts, and the October 20 ’23 36 puts. All three printed on the NYSE American exchange (AMEX) and hit the tape at approximately the same time, 9:47 am ET. All three series traded close to the posted offer at the time of the trade. The September 15 ’23 38 puts traded at $1.03 (delta = 79), the September 15 ’23 35 puts traded at $0.13 (delta = 9), and the October 20 ’23 36 puts traded at $0.62 (delta = 29) so this may be a trader coming in and buying all three series versus a spread. If that is the case, then the overall trade is the equivalent of 1,170,000 shares of stock.

HSBC is currently trading at $37.12. HSBC has a 52-week high of $42.46 and a 52-week low of $23.70.
