Featured ideas cans the universe of trading ideas and only delivers those that match your style. How does it know? Define your style in Customized Settings (using the gear icon on the top right). Set your filters like exchanges, asset types, bullish or bearish opportunities, timelines and more. See the list of assets gathered in real-time, along with the strategy match and historical return.

Study Notes:

Upon opening the Featured ideas tab, the user will see a Stocks Preferences pop up menu. This enables the user to create a unique search each time they visit this section or to set a template and then click on the Don’t Ask Again tab at the bottom of the page. Users can select Fundamentals choices for stocks, such as earnings, dividends or market cap. Or they can select one or more of the chart/technical triggers in the section below. They can also activate idea generation across any or all of the 11 economic sectors by clicking each box. When selections are complete the user clicks the Done button below.

Results are displayed to the upper left with the number of stocks in brackets. The stocks are listed as a ribbon to the right. Note that in the stocks ribbon along the top, the software may differentiate between simply a bullish or bearish tack for the stock or else it may display an explicit percentage target projected by the software.

Click on any of the symbols to display chart displaying the trigger that signals the technical event. Above the chart is a description of the technical formation, when it occurred and a price change since the trigger event. Click the blue hyperlink to learn more about the technical event. For certain technical formations, price objectives are depicted on the chart. Users should pay attention also to the timing of the trigger and how long its expected impact has to run by referencing the What was Found section or alongside the identified pattern above the chart.

Beneath the chart, click the hyperlink to Backtesting to see the Historical Return using the technical event over time. Note the checkbox beneath the plot that imposes a 10% stop loss on the strategy and its impact on Historical Performance. When done click the Back button to return to the plot.

The Featured Ideas tab from Trading Central helps apply dozens of technical patterns across global stocks to help users save time in identifying potentially profitable scenarios.

In the upper right of the display there are several icons. By default the user is shown the strategy described in the plot. However, when clicked the histogram icon eliminates the text and offers a longer price history chart of the stock. Click the information icon for details about the company.
